The Human Side of Corporate Culture

One week ago, the KLR team stepped away from everyday roles and routines to reconnect simply as people. Through play, reflection and shared experiences, we explored what makes a growing, international and multidisciplinary team truly work.

Beyond Roles and Routines

One week ago, our team stepped away from the usual routines to focus on something essential to every company: being together, free from daily roles, processes and responsibilities.

In the age of AI and technology, what still makes us stand out is the subtle art of being human – not simply performing functions.

In our imperfect diversity, we continue to transcend any algorithm. Exploring those “glitches in the matrix” and understanding the group dynamics behind them is an important task in every human-centred working environment.

Playing to explore

There is one thing humans learn to do before almost anything else: play.

I would even say that playing is what allows us to learn many other things later in life. As an NLP Master, I strongly believe that games are one of the best ways to explore how we approach the serious game called life—including its side quests: work, relationships, routines and responsibilities.

So that is what we did. We played.

The first part of the day was dedicated to gamified group experiences designed to explore how we play the game of business.

We observed our team dynamics, communication styles and approaches to solving challenges together. We also uncovered some of the hidden rules we follow simply because, at some point, we decided those rules existed.

The experience showed us where freedom can feel like a burden rather than an opportunity—and how limitations can sometimes become a cheat code for achieving results.

It also brought together colleagues who do not usually interact in their daily work. We gained valuable insights into how we can improve our communication, while confirming something equally important: we are a strong team made up of highly creative minds.

From Reflection to Summer Fun

The second part of the day was dedicated to pure summer fun.

We sailed along the Slovenian coast, where one of KLR’s headquarters is located. It was a chance to connect informally, strengthen relationships and enjoy being together as one team – playing, dancing, swimming and simply relaxing.

The Human Side of Corporate Culture

At KLR, we believe team building is much more than a formal social activity. It is an investment in trust, communication, shared understanding… and loyalty to what we do.

This is particularly important in an international, multicultural and multidisciplinary company like ours. As we grow across markets, bring together different perspectives and work across multiple processes, strong and respectful relationships help us collaborate more effectively and transform human diversity into a real business advantage.

Great teams are not built only through discipline, project management and technology adoption alone. They are built through shared experiences, honest communication, the willingness to understand one another better, commitment to shared goals and values beyond numbers – and the deeply human ability to have fun.

And we do.
